In the first 06 months of 2025, the Border Steering Committee and its member agencies have proactively organized and implemented border work tasks based on the situation. In May 2025, the Border Steering Committee advised the province to organize the 21st border meeting between the border delegation of Son La Province and Hua Phan Province, the 15th border meeting between the border delegation of Son La Province and Luong Pha Bang Province; advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a document directing the implementation of the contents of the 21st border meeting minutes between Son La Province and Hua Phan Province, the 15th between Son La province and Luong Pha Bang province; The Steering Committee organized a working delegation to survey, inspect, and assess the situation of national border markers and the work of ensuring security and order on the border of Son La Province according to the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee.

The member agencies of the Steering Committee, specialized agencies, authorities and mass organizations of the province have strengthened the dissemination of laws, policies and guidelines of the Party, legal policies of the State and 02 legal documents on the border that the two governments have signed; mobilized the masses to actively develop the socio-economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty according to the programs, projects and plans of the province; The provincial Border Guard and the People's Committees of border districts regularly coordinate closely with the functional forces of Hua Phan and Luang Prabang provinces to maintain bilateral and unilateral patrols to protect the border and landmarks according to the Agreement, of which, bilateral patrols to protect the border were 21 times, unilateral patrols were 146 times, and area control patrols were 568 times.

The provincial specialized forces continue to effectively coordinate according to Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP dated September 5, 2019 of the Government and coordinate with specialized forces of Laos to maintain information exchange, grasp the situation, strictly manage the area and effectively deploy preventive measures as well as promptly and effectively combat all types of crimes and sabotage activities of hostile forces; ensure good security and order in the border area.

The functional forces at the border gate strictly manage, inspect, and monitor the exchange of goods by border residents, prevent diseases, regulate import and export activities, and manage and develop services; The member agencies of the Steering Committee continue to organize the implementation of programs, projects, plans, population planning, development of transport infrastructure, information, healthcare, and clean water, etc., contributing to step by step promoting socio-economic development in border areas.

In the coming period, the functional forces will continue to maintain strict control over exit and entry activities, as well as export and import along the entire border line in the province. They will also strengthen patrols unilateral and bilateral inspections to protect the border, border markers, and other border works; continue to direct the strengthening of local management, proactively coordinate between the provincial forces according to Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP dated September 5, 2019 of the Government and coordinate with specialized forces of Laos to grasp the situation, deploy preventive measures, promptly and effectively combat all types of crimes and sabotage activities of hostile forces; promote the mass movement to protect national security, ensure security and order in border areas; continue to strengthen the work of advising on the economic and social life of ethnic minorities; advise and propose timely support for poor households facing difficulties to stabilize their lives.
