Border protection work in the first 6 months of the year ensured stability

(en.sonla.gov.vn) In the first 6 months of the year, the armed forces performed their tasks well, the system of border lines and national border markers in the province protected safely and intact; people on both sides of the border complied with the provisions of the Agreement on Border Management Regulations and Border Gate Regulations on the Vietnam - Laos mainland, as well as the Partys policies and laws of the two States. The political security situation, social order, and safety in the border area of the province were stable.

Focus on implementing the GREAT 2 project in Son La

(en.sonla.gov.vn) The GREAT 2 project in Son La is funded by the Australian Government through non-refundable aid. The project implementation agreement was signed in April 2024. To deploy the project, the Son La provincial Peoples committee coordinated with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam to finalize and sign the implementation agreement. Son La province established a Steering Committee and issued operational regulations. After restructuring and streamlining the political system’s apparatus, the project’s ownership was reassigned to the Department of Finance. The Steering Committee and Project management Unit were also restructured. The donor has approved the Project implementation manual and the investment approval procedures.

(en.sonla.gov.vn) On July 22, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a virtual conference with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to promote economic diplomacy, aiming to contribute to achieving economic growth targets for the second half of 2025 and laying the foundation for double-digit growth in the following period.  

Firmly safeguarding border sovereignty and security

Son La Provincial Peoples Committee works with the French Development Agency (AFD) delegation

Accelerating the progress of granting level 2 electronic identification accounts to foreigners

(En.sonla.gov.vn) Since July 1, Son La Provincial Police have launched a 50-day peak period of granting electronic identification to foreigners (from July 1 to August 19, 2025). In the first days of implementation, they have received applications for granting level 2 electronic identification to more than 50% of foreigners in the area. 

The provincial Border Affairs Steering Committee reviews first-half performance and outlines tasks for the second half of 2025

(en.sonla.gov.vn) On July 4, 2025, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Head of the Provincial Border Affairs Steering Committee Trang Thi Xuan, chaired a conference to review the committee’s performance in the first half of the year and outline tasks for the second half of 2025. Attending the conference were members of the Steering Committee and representatives of provincial departments and agencies.

International day of yoga 2025 in Son La province

(Moc Chau) On June 14, at Moc Chau Island tourist area – Bach Long glass bridge, the People’s committee of Son La province and the People’s committee of Moc Chau town, in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of India in Vietnam, organized the International day of yoga under the theme “One Earth, One Health.”
