The Provincial Party Secretary inspected and grasped the implementation progress of the Moc Chau urban - inner-city main road project

The Moc Chau urban - inner-city main road project was approved by the Provincial People’s Committee under Decision No. 2018/QĐ-UBND dated August 31, 2021, with a total investment of VND 600 billion. The road has a total length of 10 km, running through the wards of Van Son, Moc Son, and Moc Chau. Its starting point is at Km183 of National Highway 6, in Residential Group 70, Van Son Ward; the endpoint is at Km192+800 of National Highway 6, in Residential Group 5, Moc Chau Ward. The project covers nearly 42 hectares of land, of which about 36 hectares require site clearance, affecting around 600 households. To date, 57 rounds of compensation and support have been approved, benefiting 343 households, with approximately 24.4 hectares of land recovered. The total amount disbursed for compensation, support, and project implementation has reached about VND 86 billion. Currently, four contract packages are underway: equipment and green tree; construction of the road sections from Km0 to Km4+00 and from Km8 to Km10+00; construction of the section from Km4 to Km5+00; and relocation and restoration of the power grid from 35kV downward to facilitate site clearance.

At the working session, project owners and construction units candidly reported several difficulties and obstacles, including: complex land transfers hindering measurement and verification of records; expiration of certain legal documents on site clearance; lack of allocated capital for 2025; approved compensation plans that remain unpaid; and incomplete land recovery and infrastructure construction in some resettlement areas, affecting the relocation of households whose land has been acquired.

Concluding the working session, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh emphasized that the Moc Chau Urban Main Road Project is a key infrastructure development essential for urban growth. He urged project owners to work closely with ward authorities and relevant agencies to accelerate site clearance, strengthen communication and public engagement to prevent complaints and disputes, and direct contractors to be ready to commence construction as soon as land is handed over, ensuring the project’s progress and quality.
