Proactive from the root, creating momentum for agricultural products to break through in export
(en.sonla.gov.vn) With the goal of achieving an agricultural export value of 35.2 million USD in 2025, Son La province is proactively implementing a series of synchronous solutions serving market development, expanding consumption channels to promote deep processing, and creating a solid momentum for local agricultural products to go far.

Right from the first months of 2025, the People's Committee of Son La province has directed departments, boards, branches, and localities to focus on drastically implementing solutions for agricultural product consumption. The principle of action "early, from afar" is thoroughly implemented throughout the system, demonstrating proactiveness in seizing opportunities and responding to market challenges. The heads of the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province said that the Department regularly tight monitors the customs clearance situation at border gates with China, promptly provides information, and supports businesses, cooperatives, and people to regulate import and export activities flexibly and effectively. At the same time, the Department actively participates in trade promotion conferences and closely coordinates with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to propose solutions to support the development of e-commerce, considering this a crucial channel in the consumption and export of key agricultural products.

Son La province focuses on the traditional market and actively expands the domestic market. Clean agricultural product weeks continue to be held in major cities such as Hanoi and Hai Phong to bring local specialties closer to consumers nationwide.

In addition, the province pays special attention to improving producers' competitiveness. Many training courses on online sales skills and live streaming on e-commerce platforms such as Zalo, TikTok, YouTube, etc. are organized, supporting cooperatives and farming households to modern business trends, increasing the effectiveness of product promotion and consumption.

A notable step forward in Son La's trade promotion is the gradual digitization of activities. The province does not stop at organizing fairs and commodity weeks but also proactively establishes stable and sustainable consumption channels by organizing working delegations to work directly with corporations, supermarkets, processing plants, tourist areas, etc. across the country.

Together with market promotion, the deep processing sector continues to be improved. From 2021 to 2023, Son La attracted 11 large-scale agricultural processing projects, of which 10 granted new investment policies. In 2024 alone, the province received 04 investment proposals and approved investment policies for 03 projects with a total registered capital of up to 633.8 billion VND on 13.27 hectares.

In 2025, a positive signal for Son La's agricultural processing industry is that Doveco Son La Vegetable and Fruit Processing Center will maintain traditional product lines and install the first modern fruit canning line in Vietnam, manufactured by Tetra Pak (Sweden). This line opens up prospects for improving quality, extending preservation time, and expanding the consumption market for the province's agricultural products.

With proactive, creative, and methodical steps from the beginning of the year, Son La has shown great determination in affirming the brand and position of the province's agricultural products in the domestic and international markets.
