Boosting IT Integration in Agricultural Production

In addition to enhancing public administrative services and facilitating procedures for rural residents and businesses to drive digital transformation in new rural development, significant efforts are also being made to digitize agriculture for economic growth and improved livelihoods. This includes gradual digitization in key agricultural sectors (vegetables, fruits, tea, coffee) and aquaculture. The province is focusing on digitizing data across agriculture, forestry, fisheries, irrigation, new rural development, and agricultural cooperatives. It involves developing and expanding safe agricultural production models using smart sensors, LED technology, greenhouses, hydroponics, photovoltaic cells, and robotics for plant and livestock care, as well as drones and satellites. Financial technology is also being integrated across all agricultural activities in the province.

Digital solutions are being implemented to manage and execute the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) program, including enhanced digitization and data synchronization, and managing source codes and traceability for agricultural products. Key tools include traceability systems, GIS technology for forest management, and electronic farm diaries like farmdiary.online. Online applications and virtual reality are being promoted for marketing and e-commerce of agricultural products. Support has been provided to 42 businesses and cooperatives, showcasing 52 products on the Son La Provincial Agritrade Page (https://agritradepage.vn). Five enterprises with 75 export-ready products have been listed on Alibaba.com, Agrim, and EC platforms. Communication tools are being developed to assist businesses in finding digital partners via YouTube, articles, videos, and Google AdWords. Son La products on e-commerce platforms total 2,466, with over 49,916 transactions.

Son La Province is committed to developing smart rural areas as a key goal. Future plans include investing in and upgrading equipment, advancing digital governance for improved rural development, and enhancing online public services at the provincial, district and commune levels. Efforts will focus on improving online service quality, streamlining administrative reforms with e-government, and fostering a comprehensive, eco-friendly, and efficient agricultural sector. Support will be provided to individuals and organizations adopting digital technology in agricultural production.
