Son La Province consistently prioritizes the development of diverse activities to attract tourists.During the month, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism continued to effectively carry out tasks related to the tourism sector, particularly focusing on developing tourism products by promoting the province’s distinctive offerings. At the same time, efforts were actively made to advance cultural-historical tourism and community-based tourism, while improving the quality of culinary services, contributing to enhancing the destination’s appeal. Additionally, Son La Province actively strengthened tourism information and promotion activities to ensure effectiveness and wide reach in showcasing Son La’s tourism image to visitors. A key emphasis was placed on leveraging information technology to broadcast tourism activities through media outlets and social networks, achieving a high level of dissemination.
Tourism products are regularly maintained and innovated, while the promotion of the cultural identity of ethnic groups is actively carried out through promotional conferences and widely disseminated on media platforms and social networks. These efforts foster the development of green tourism and digital tourism, aiming for sustainable growth with community participation in the development of tourism and tourism products in Son La Province.
The province has a total of 641 accommodation establishments, including 7 hotels rated three stars and above, with an average room occupancy rate of 59.4%. In May 2025, the total number of visitors to Son La reached 2,587 arrivals (including 26 international visitors; 1,132 day-trippers; and 1,455 guests staying at accommodation facilities), generating a revenue of 3,038 billion VND.
