Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented flowers to welcome the Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam.

Welcoming speech for the Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam to visit and work in Son La province, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet expressed his joy at the attention of EU countries to Son La. He sent greetings from Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to the Ambassador during his visit and work in Son La.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet informed about some outstanding achievements in politics, socioeconomics, national defense, security, and international cooperation, concurrently briefed the province's potential and strengths in agricultural development, processing industry, and tourism development. He hoped that on this occasion, the Ambassador would help connect and support Son La in promoting tourism, consuming the province's agricultural export products consumed in the European market, providing information on market orientation, standard conditions, and regulations of goods eligible for export to the European market as a basis for Son La to develop production and consumption plans,..., in addition, supporting Son La in developing wind power and renewable energy.

 On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam, thanked the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the provincial leaders for their thoughtful and respectful reception, expressing his wish to visit, learn about, strengthen the relationship, and cooperate in investment in Son La province, especially in the fields of agriculture, agricultural exports, and renewable energy development,..., the Ambassador highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between the European Union and Vietnam in recent times and shared his view that he would support Son La according to the province's recommendations.

At the working session, the two sides also discussed issues surrounding the Climate Change Response and Disaster Prevention Project to be implemented in Son La this year and supported Son La province to participate in exporting key products to the EU market.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to the Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam and his delegation.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented the Ambassador and his delegation with a Piêu scarf, a symbol representing the culture of ethnic minorities and local agricultural products such as tea and coffee currently being exported to foreign markets.

              The Chairman and the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and                              the leaders of departments and branches took souvenir photos with the Ambassador                     and the working delegation.
