The Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee inspects the progress of key projects in Mai Son Industrial Park.

Currently, Mai Son Industrial Park is implementing three key projects, including: the Instant cereal and Dried fruit processing plant project by VFI Investment trading production joint stock company; the Modified starch processing plant project (BHL Sơn La) by BHL Food ingredient processing joint stock company; and the Mavin Mai Son Complex of animal feed production and agricultural product processing by Mavin Mai Son Co., Ltd. All projects are being carried out in accordance with their committed timelines.

However, during the implementation process, several obstacles remain, primarily related to issues such as: the progress of infrastructure development in Phase I of Mai Son Industrial Park; completion of shared infrastructure within the park; procedures for obtaining environmental permits for the infrastructure investment project; upgrading of the power supply and water systems; water pricing; and the pricing of services for management, operation, maintenance, and upkeep of transportation systems, greenery, lighting, and public sanitation within the industrial park.

The Instant cereal and Dried fruit processing plant project by VFI Investment trading production joint stock company has completed approximately 80% of its construction volume and is currently installing equipment, with trial operations scheduled to begin on September 15, 2025. The Modified starch processing plant project (BHL Sơn La) has completed its main structural components, while auxiliary systems are being finalized, with an inauguration planned for the end of September. the Mavin Mai Son Complex of animal feed production and agricultural product processing is in the final stages of land allocation procedures and is expected to commence construction in August 2025.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee delivered remarks.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the Provincial industrial park management board to coordinate with the People’s Committee of Chieng Mung Commune to reach consensus on the establishment of a Site Clearance and Compensation Council, with a strong focus on public communication, advocacy, and persuasion to gain community support for land clearance efforts. Relevant departments and sectors were urged to promptly complete outstanding documents and procedures, such as environmental permits, service pricing, and investment in the power supply system. Secondary project investors were called upon to mobilize resources, ensure construction quality and progress, and strive to put their factories into operation as committed.

The Vice Chairman assigned the Provincial industrial park management board to proactively coordinate with relevant parties to promptly resolve difficulties, and committed to ensuring power supply for the new factories is completed by July 30. He also requested a unified proposal be submitted to the Northern Power Corporation for the construction of a 110 kV substation for the industrial park. The Department of Agriculture and Environment was tasked with completing the issuance of environmental permits by August 10 and finalizing land-related procedures to enable the groundbreaking of the Mavin animal feed and agricultural product processing complex on August 19. The goal is that by September 2025, Mai Son industrial park will have two additional factories in operation, one project breaking ground, and basic technical infrastructure completed, meeting the conditions necessary to attract further investors.

Accelerating the effective implementation of projects in Mai Son industrial park will significantly contribute to industrial development, job creation, and increased local budget revenues in the near future.
