The Congress of the Son La Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations term 2024-2029.

In the 2017-2023 term, the Union deployed and carried out many activities, bringing practical results and contributing to promoting the province's general foreign affairs work. Among them, the highlight is well-organized reception activities, welcoming delegations, and foreign non-governmental organizations to visit, work, and exchange in Son La. The foreign non-governmental aid mobilization has been initially efficient, especially in mobilizing participation in relief activities for people damaged by floods and epidemics to ensure effectiveness. In particular, in the Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017 and 2022, the Union has coordinated with provincial and central agencies to successfully organize welcoming activities with the participation of High-level leaders of the Party, State, relevant ministries, and branches of the two countries Vietnam - Laos and delegations of 16 provinces of Lao PDR. Son La province sent 171 delegations with 1,440 people on business trips to Laos; welcomed and worked with 279 delegations with 3,614 visitors from Lao PDR; support for nine (09) provinces of Lao PDR 70 billion 814 million VND to invest in building infrastructure, works, office equipment, and plant varieties; receiving and training 2,133 international students from 9 provinces of Lao PDR. Son La province has received 62 programs and projects with a total funding value of over 17 million USD from foreign non-governmental organizations, foreign diplomatic representative agencies in Vietnam, and other organizations, individuals, and foreign donors, …

In the 2024-2029 term, the Union of Friendship Organizations in Son La province focuses on improving operational efficiency and promoting its core role in people-to-people foreign affairs; expanding peace, friendship, and cooperation activities and strengthening appropriate exchange activities; promoting non-governmental, humanitarian and charity work to improve the quality of foreign propaganda and information work..., contributing to the effective implementation of the foreign policy and guidelines of our Party and State.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hung proposed that the Union of Friendship Organizations in Son La province continues to do a better job advising in thoroughly understanding and communicating directives and resolutions on the foreign affairs of the province. The Party, people's foreign affairs, and organization-building work develop strongly. Develop a work program with a specific roadmap. At the Congress, delegates consulted and elected 22 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Son La province, term II; elected five (05) comrades to the Standing Committee.
